Father of Boy Who Died from Fentanyl Sues Monroe County Agencies

The father of a ten-year-old Churchville boy who died after swallowing fentanyl is suing Monroe County agencies he claims failed to protect his identity during the investigation. 

Michael Coles was subsequently shot by the dead boy's mother's boyfriend. Coles had been assisting authorities investigating the death of his son, J'Vieon Grayson in June 2017. 

Coles was shot three times. He is now suing for at least $10 million. The boyfriend, Walter Morse, pleaded guilty in June to second-degree manslaughter in the boy's death and second-degree attempted murder for shooting Coles.
