Man Sentenced in Death of Churchville Boy With Fentanyl

A man will spend up to 15 years in prison for causing the death of a 10-year-old boy with fentanyl and trying to kill the boy's biological father. Walter Morse, 31, was convicted of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree attempted murder. J'Vieon Grayson-Sutton was found unconscious by his 6-year-old brother at their home on Fitch Street in Churchville on June 12, 2017. The boy was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died the next afternoon. Morse is accused of shooting Michael Coles, 35. Coles was hospitalized, but recovered. Dolfona Grayson, J'Vieon's mother, was originally charged with second-degree manslaughter, but Judge Demarco ordered all charges dropped. She was working at her job as a CNA when her son ingested the fentanyl. Prosecutors say Morse, the mother's boyfriend, was supposed to be home with J’Vieon and his brother, but he left them alone for at least an hour.
