Buffalo Bills Cut 2 Players

The Buffalo Bills announced the release of 2 players today: wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III and offensive lineman Garret McGhin.

McCloud was a 6th round pick in 2018 for the Bills. He played in only 10 games, having 5 receptions for 36 yards.

McGhin was an un-drafted free agent who spent part of last season with the Carolina Panthers.

The cuts leave the Bills with a total of 86 players on the roster. It looks as though they are trying to get down to 81 players (more on that in a moment). Per the NFL's COVID-19 adjustments to the CBA, all rosters need to be down to 80 players by August 16th in order to have a unified practices. Up to 90 players are allowed on a team, but in that case practices must have the players split in half for different sessions. The Bills are allowed 81 under this rule, because they have a roster exemption for RB Christian Wade via the International players program.
