LONSBERRY: Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge; Bridge to Freedom

The purpose for the construction of the Suspension Bridge in 1855 was to connect the railroad line from upstate New York to Canada and to give ships the ability to avoid the Niagara Falls and its dangers. The new bridge meant something entirely different to the enslaved people of the United States of America during that time. Please take some time to view a short video on the history of the Suspension Bridge that was put together by the producer of the Bob Lonsberry Show, Matt Wilson.
