A Colombian from Kissimmee, Florida has been sentenced to 2 years in jail for being involved in a jewelry theft ring that included a store robbery in Greece.
Yesenia Melendez Rincon admitted to casing jewelry stores in various locations and acting as a lookout.
Federal prosecutors say co-conspirators were involved in the theft of $3.1 million in jewelry from establishments in New Jersey, Ohio., Indiana and here in Greece in September of 2023.
Greece police assisted in the investigation.
She pleaded guilty.
The co-conspirators were not named.
