Arrest in Fatal Rochester Hit-and-Run

A 24-year-old man turned himself in to Rochester police today and was charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run last month on Union Street.

The incident early on the morning of June 14th took the life of 70-year-old Henry Brown.

He died a short time later at the hospital.

An investigation determined Leonel Yas Pena was driving the car that hit Brown.

Prior to the accident, Pena had been at a bar on Monroe Avenue and seen to be drunk.

Pena has been convicted of DWI three times over the last ten years. and was sent to an alcohol abuse program after his last conviction.

Pena is now in the Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment.
