Rochester Woman Sentenced for Social Security Theft in Hidden Body Case

A Rochester woman will spend a year in prison on federal identity theft charges for stealing her dead boyfriend's Social Security benefits while allegedly hiding his body in her basement.

Prosecutors say Wendy Stone obtained a replacement debit card for 66-year-old Kenneth Crisman's benefits after Christman died in late 2022 or early in 2023.

And she poured bleach on the body to get rid of foul odors.

Stone still faces a state charge of concealing a corpse.

Her son, Cody, received 5 years probation on the same charge for helping her.
