The New York Giants confirmed the firing of head coach Brian Daboll in a statement shared on their X account Monday (November 10).

"We spoke this morning about the direction of our franchise on the field, and we have decided that, at this time, it is in our best interest to make a change at the head coaching position," president John Mara and chairman Steve Tisch said in a joint statement. "The past few seasons have been nothing short of disappointing, and we have not met our expectations for this franchise. We understand the frustrations of our fans, and we will work to deliver a significantly improved product.

"We appreciate Coach Daboll for his contributions to our organization. We wish the Daboll family all the best in the future."

The New York Giants have reportedly fired head coach Brian Daboll, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday (November 10).

Daboll's reported firing came hours after the Giants' 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, which saw them blow a 20-10 fourth quarter lead and rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart sustain a concussion after previously being evaluated on three separate occasions since taking over as a starter. The Giants had previously lost rookie running back Cam Skattebo and second-year wide receiver Malik Nabers to season-ending injuries in 2024.

"Sources: Brian Daboll is out as the Giants head coach," Schefter wrote on his X account. "For the third straight year, the Giants are 2-8. They’ve blown four double-digit leads in four road losses. Their prized rookie quarterback has been evaluated for four concussions. And their star WR and RB are out for the season due to knee injuries."
