Rochester Woman Pleads Guilty in Body-Hiding Case

A Rochester woman accused of stealing her dead boyfriend's Social Security benefits by hiding his body in her basement has pleaded guilty to a federal identity theft charge.

Federal prosecutors say Wendy Stone put 66-year-old Kenneth Crisman's body in the basement of the home they shared on Bryan Street after Christman died in late 2022 or early in 2023.

Stone then obtained a replacement debit card for his benefits while pouring bleach on the body to get rid of foul odors.

Stone faces up to 10 years in prison when she's sentenced in July.

She and her son, Cody Stone, also face state charges of concealing a corpse.
