A Rochester man is guilty of beating his girlfriend to death last summer in front of her 9-year-old daughter.
49-year-old Walter Balkum Junior was convicted of first-degree manslaughter and assault.
Police say Balkum went to Melikah Bruner's home on Hazelwood Terrace last August and repeatedly hit her in the head and upper body.
Balkum had assaulted Bruner and her son last June, and he had been ordered to wear an ankle monitor as part of his release on assault charges.
But that monitor was removed 5 days before he killed Bruner.
Balkum will be sentenced May 21st.
