Rochester Woman Accused of Hiding Boyfriend's Body For Social Security

A Rochester woman is accused of stealing her dead boyfriend's Social Security benefits by hiding his body in her basement.

Federal prosecutors say 63-year-old Wendy Stone put her deceased live-in boyfriend's body in a recycling bin back in December 2022, then obtained a replacement debit card for his benefits.

She would periodically pour bleach on the body to prevent foul odors.

Stone allegedly received nearly $10,000 in total.

Stone is charged with theft of government funds, aggravated identity theft, and making a false statement.

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a quarter-million dollar fine.
