The leader of a marijuana trafficking ring whose turf war with a rival gang led to the killing of a Rochester police officer will serve 9 years in prison.
Rasheem Sullivan pleaded guilty to one federal drug trafficking charge and one gun crime in February.
Prosecutors say Sullivan's ring clashed with a gang led by Brandon Washington.
Washington allegedly helped recruit Kelvin Vickers from Boston to kill dealers connected to Sullivan.
Vickers was convicted in the July 2022 killing of Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz, as well as the killings of two of Sullivan's alleged dealers.
