The man accused of raping a teenage girl at a Rochester corner store has pleaded guilty to rape and weapons charges.
Prosecutors say 22-year-old Shadad Alghaithy locked a teenage girl inside the Central Park store in March 2021 and sexually assaulted her.
Alghaithy was already a convicted Level 2 sex offender at the time of the alleged rape at the store where he worked, across the street from School 25.
Alghaithy will serve 17 years in prison as part of his plea deal.
His formal sentencing is scheduled for February 14th.
