The Army veteran who was charged last year in a scuffle in Perinton with politician Lee Zeldin has been sentenced to 3 years probation.
David Jakubonis pleaded guilty in September to assaulting a federal officer.
Zeldin was a member of Congress and was running for governor.
Jakubonis approached Zeldin on stage at a campaign rally, holding a pointed keychain sometimes used as a weapon.
While his case was pending, he got housing help from the Veteran's Outreach Center and attended PTSD and alcohol recovery programs.
