UPDATE: A weekend hit-and-run in Gates has turned fatal.
Police say 55-year-old Brenda Wells of Hilton was struck by a light-colored SUV on Elmgrove Road near the YMCA late Sunday night.
Wells has now died of her injuries.
Police have recovered the SUV, but have not announced any arrests.
They're asking anyone with information to call 911.

Gates police are looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian late last night.
They say someone in a light-colored SUV struck someone on Elmgrove Road, near the YMCA, shortly before 11:30.
There's no update on the victim's condition.
