Rochester police have named the officer who shot a theft suspect last month.
Officer Adam Gorman is a 6-year veteran of the department.
He's now on desk duty while the investigation continues.
Police say he was forced to shoot 33-year-old James Brumfield, as Brumfield was trying to pull away in a stolen car from a Culver Road gas station December 29th.
They say Gorman was trapped in the car door, before he fired a single shot, wounding Brumfield in the upper body.
Brumfield is charged with robbery, assault, resisting arrest, and possession of stolen property.
