It may be about two weeks before the House of Mercy can reopen.
Director Tammy Butler is looking for temporary space to house the roughly four dozen people needing shelter.
They were able to stay the last few nights at a building at MLK park, but must leave by 11 a.m. today.
Some of the homeless people were able to stay at the Open Door Mission and the Salvation Army.
