Brockport Man Involved in Capitol Riot Asking For Leniency

A Brockport man who was involved in the Capitol riot is asking federal prosecutors for leniency.

James Mault is facing up to 8 years in prison.

He pleaded guilty in April to one count of assaulting, resisting, and impeding a federal officer

Prosecutors say he and Cody Mattice of Hilton pepper-sprayed officers.

Mault's lawyers say he should get less time, because he has PTSD from several military tours.
