A local Olympic legend is retiring from competition.

Churchville's Jenn Shur announced on Twitter she is stepping away from professional track and field competition for good.

Suhr was the 2012 Olympic champion in pole vaulting, among many national and world championships she won.

In addition, Suhr was named the Pole Vaulter of the Decade by Track & Field News.

She says, "this small-town girl is ready for small-town living."
