PAB Accuses City Council of Trying to Take Over

Rochester's Police Accountability Board is accusing the City Council of trying to take it over. In an open letter on its website, the PAB says the City Council's three-point oversight plan was approved without the PAB's input. The plan includes a moratorium on board expenditures and hiring, and an investigation into personnel complaints and possible mismanagement. That plan was announced last week, after Executive Director Conor Dwyer Reynolds was placed on leave. The letter also says the PAB will share more information about its work with the public in the coming days.
