Police: Greece Man Drove Off Road, Struck a House, Landed in Water

A man from Greece is charged with DWI after police say he drove off a road, struck a house, and landed in water. The accident happened around 12:25 a.m. Sunday near Edgemere Drive and Long Pond Road. Police say Dale Danforth, 60, of Greece, failed to navigate the intersection, left the road, hit a home on Edgemere, and ultimately landing in a channel of water. That's where first responders say they located the partially submerged vehicle. Danforth was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured. Danforth is charged with with Driving While Intoxicated as a designated offense for a previous conviction within 10 years, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the first degree. Danforth was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle in the second and third degree, Circumvent of an Interlock Device, Unlicensed Operation, and Moving from Lane Unsafely.
