French Yogurt Maker to Set Up Production in Batavia

French-owned yogurt and dairy desserts company La Fermièreb will establish its U.S. production operations at the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park in Batavia.

The company has committed to building a 45,000 square-foot plant, and may expand it in the future.

The company expects to create up to 135 jobs and will use millions of gallons of milk each year from New York dairy farmers.

The state is providing up to $1.35 million dollars in tax credits in exchange for job creation commitments.

Genesee County, Greater Rochester Enterprise, and Invest Buffalo Niagara also are providing support.

The plant could be operational by November 2023.
