Victim Identified, Car Impounded in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Rochester police have found and impounded the car they say was involved in a deadly hit-and-run at North Winton and Blossom roads.

It happened shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday when police say 36-year-old Richard Massey Jr., stopped at a crash scene involving someone he knew.

Massey was struck by one of the cars involved in the initial accident. The driver left the scene.

Police say the owner of the car is not cooperating, so they aren't sure yet whether Massey was hit accidentally or intentionally.

The Major Crimes unit is still sorting through physical and video evidence.
