Brighton Man Convicted in Child Sex Abuse Case

Rochester, NY -- A jury has convicted a 53-year-old Brighton man for the repeated sexual abuse of a child under 13.

Defendant James Young was convicted on one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child and faces pending federal charges.

He will be sentenced next month to 15 to 25 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the abuse spanned about ten months, ending in April 2020.

Young was arrested with 30-year-old Rebecca Wilson. They were both accused of soliciting sexual photos from a 10-year-old. And Wilson was accused of recording videos of sexual contact with a younger child. She pleaded guilty last year to federal charges.
