Monroe County's COVID-19 Death Toll Tops 1,700

Monroe County's COVID-19 death toll has now topped 1,700.

The health department says 36 more people died of the virus between January 7th and the 26th.

1,708 people have now lost their lives to the virus.

But cases continue to decline.

Just 287 new cases were reported, and the 7-day average is down to 671 per day.

A steep drop in hospitalizations is now underway.

632 people in the Finger Lakes region are in the hospital.

That's 106 fewer than a week ago.

93 patients are in intensive care.
