Violent Day as Four Are Shot, One Stabbed in Rochester

The Rochester Police Department says three people have been shot and one killed in an incident late Wednesday morning on North Clinton Avenue.

It happened about 11:30 on North Clinton Avenue near Rialto Street. Police have the area blocked off. One person was dead at the scene. Another is seriously injured and one received non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

Lt. Gregory Bello told reporters that people have to stop solving disputes with gunfire when the community has many non-violent means of resolving them.

While Rochester police were investigating that North Clinton Avenue shooting, they were also called to Pardee Street and Joseph Avenue where a man was stabbed in the chest. The victim...a man in his 30s...was stabbed inside a store, and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

And another person was shot in yet a third violent incident today, this time on South Plymouth Avenue on the West Side. The victim is a man in his 30s who was shot in the leg and is expected to recover.
