Hochul Imposing Booster Mandate on Health Care Workers

Governor Kathy Hochul is putting in what she's calling a first-in-the-nation coronavirus booster shot mandate for health care workers in New York State. Hochul says they must get the booster after they're eligible with no test out option. Hochul says it's the best option to keep so many hospital employees from getting sick with COVID, causing staffing shortages.

Meanwhile, the state is now making nursing home visitors wear a surgical mask and show a negative COVID test before entering. Hochul says there has been an increase in coronavirus cases in nursing homes.
