Governor Orders Nursing Homes to Provide COVID Boosters

Governor Kathy Hochul is now ordering New York State nursing homes and adult care facilities to make COVID booster shots available to their residents. Hochul says with emergence of the Omicron Variant abroad there's no better time to get your first shot of a COVID vaccine or to get your booster shot. Although no cases of omicron have been confirmed in this country yet, Hochul has declared a state of emergency beginning December third.

Since Thanksgiving, there have been more than 43-hundred new COVID cases statewide. The percentage of COVID found is 4.73. 637 people were admitted to hospitals statewide with COVID with 513 of them in ICUs. And there have been 67 new deaths across New York.
