Union Leaders Asking RSD to Resume Using Armed Police Officers

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren reportedly will meet with other leaders today to discuss the recent spike in violence in the city schools.

Union leaders are asking the district to resume using armed police officers or school resource officers.

But some parents who spoke to the school board last night are against the idea.

The district recently replaced the school resource officers with unarmed safety officers. But some of those jobs have not been filled.
