Former Northwood Elementary School Principal Kirk Ashton has posted bail and will be released from jail while he awaits his trial on charges he molested more than two dozen boys at school. The Hilton school superintendent said in a message to families that Ashton was released yesterday, though that was not immediately confirmed by prosecutors. The district plans to have additional security outside the school today, and counselors will be available for students and staff. Ashton has been in jail since April. He and the district are named in lawsuits being brought by families of some of the victims.
