Rochester City Council to Vote on Skatepark Expansion

The Rochester City Council is scheduled tonight to vote on a proposal to spend $150,000 for design work to expand the new skatepark.

Other items on the agenda include the approval of city sponsorship funds for the Puerto Rican Festival, the Fringe Festival, and the Holiday Village.

The Council is set to vote on a proposal to pay a Buffalo firm $100,000 to provide accounting and compliance consulting as the city spends its American Rescue Plan funds.

They're also set to vote tonight on a contract to provide violence prevention services in the city.

The city would pay up to $185,000 over 18 months to Advance Peace of Oakland, California, for the rights to use its Peacemaker Fellowship program.

It is described as a mentoring program that enrolls the highest-risk people into " a high-touch, personalized and structured cohort' for 18 months.

The Council also is set to vote on spending $57,000 to hire five part-time youth intervention aides for the schools from the organization Pathways to Peace.
