Irondequoit Couple Charged in String of Burglaries

A couple from Irondequoit have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries in Livingston County. Joseph Whitney, 40, and Tanya Sanchez, 44, are charged with burglary, attempted burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglar’s tools and petit larceny. Investigators say the arrests are connected to a series of burglaries at homes, seasonal homes and sheds in recent months. Whitney and Sanchez are accused of stealing electronics, tools and construction equipment. Investigators say they found stolen items and tools used in the burglaries at Whitney and Sanchez’s home. Both suspects were arraigned. Sanchez was remanded to jail on $1,000 cash or bond. Whitney was released on his own recognizance.
