Former NY Supreme Court Justice Rosenbaum Denies Sexual Assault Allegations

Former State Supreme Court Justice Matthew Rosenbaum is denying allegations outlined in a lawsuit last week by his former secretary.

The woman alleged she was raped once and was forced to perform oral sex numerous times over several years.

In a video statement first obtained by News10NBC and then released to local media, Rosenbaum said the relationship was consensual.

He also apologized in his statement to the other people and organizations also named in the lawsuit, saying they were dragged into it "unfairly."

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced yesterday that they had opened an investigation after being notified this spring about possible criminal conduct involving the former judge.

Authorities aren't saying if it is connected to the allegations disclosed in the lawsuit.

Rosenbaum resigned from the bench this past winter, soon after being elected to a new term.
