Former Judge Claims Sex Acts Were Consensual

Former State Supreme Court Justice Matthew Rosenbaum is speaking out following allegations against him that were disclosed in a lawsuit last week by his former secretary.

In the lawsuit the woman alleged she was raped once at her home, and was forced to perform oral sex numerous times over several years in the judge's chambers.

In a video statement first obtained by News10NBC and then released to local media, Rosenbaum said the relationship quote "was always totally consensual. And any attempt to frame it as other than that is both untrue and unfair."

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced yesterday that they had opened an investigation after being notified this spring about possible criminal conduct involving the former judge.

Authorities aren't saying if it is connected to the allegations disclosed in the lawsuit.

Rosenbaum resigned from the bench this past winter, soon after being elected to a new term.
