The US Canadian Border Will Remain Closed for the Foreseeable Future

It appears the border between the United States and Canada is going to remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters over the weekend that he spoke with President Biden about a reopening plan during the G-7 summit but they weren't able to reach a deal.

Trudeau says he'll continue to talking with Biden as COVID-19 vaccination efforts in both countries move forward, but right now he's focused on the safety of his own citizens.

The border has been shut down since March 2020 to limit the spread of the illness.
