Heated Exchange Halts School Board Meeting in Penfield

A heated exchange halted last night's school board meeting in Penfield.

In citizen video, board member William Yeager is heard using a profanity to insult parent Rich Tyson.

Tyson told News8 he was addressing the board during public comments and admits telling Yeager to be respectful of citizens. That's when he says Yeager signaled to him to approach the stage.

Police were called to restore order and the meeting resumed online without the public in the building.

There were reports the dispute was about district masking policies and diversity curriculum, but Tyson says he was addressing the board about a contract issue.
