The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drowning in the Oatka Creek in Scottsville.
A teenage boy was reported struggling in the middle of the creek shortly after sunset yesterday evening.
He went under the water, and bystanders were unable to pull him out.
Firefighters were able to pull him out, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the teenager is being withheld.
