City School Board Approves New $986 Million Budget

The Rochester city school board has approved the new $986 million budget.

The budget takes effect July 1 and is more than six percent bigger than the current budget.

The district says it lays the foundation for a shift from constantly focusing on fiscal stability, to making academics and student performance the priority.

It includes recommendations from the independent monitor who reviewed district finances and academics last year.
