Summer Festivals are Beginning to Announce Plans to Come Back

Summer festivals are beginning to announce plans to come back this spring and summer, after this week's announcement from the state allowing outdoor festivals and stadiums to reopen for vaccinated people.

Rochester's Lilac Festival begins Friday, running for three consecutive weekends. Organizer Jenny LoMaglio tells 13 WHAM you will notice a lot of changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Music events will be inside tents, much like going to a restaurant with a band.

Meanwhile, CMAC is announcing plans to re-open later this summer. The Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center has plans in place to re-open mid-summer with a full summer line-up to be announced in the coming weeks.

Country music artists Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett have already been announced for 2021. CMAC says over the coming weeks it will be working the state and Ontario County on protocols and guidelines for reopening safely and responsibly.
