New York is launching an effort that aims to get college kids the coronavirus vaccine before they leave for summer break.
Governor Cuomo was at Suffolk County Community College to announce the plan, noting the SUNY network of schools will take the lead.
The governor says this will directly focus on people ages 18-to-24, arguing while younger people typically deal with less-severe COVID symptoms, but they still factor into herd immunity.
Cuomo also reports an increased testing-positivity rate for the younger age demographic, saying that's risen from nine-percent, to up around 14%.
