Teen, Woman in Custody After Car Chase Through Rochester

A teenager and a woman are in custody after Rochester police spotted a stolen car Friday night at Avenue C and Hollenbeck Street. The car had been taken two days before in an armed robbery.

Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver took off, leading police on a chase across the city until it crashed into two other vehicles at Lyell Avenue and Frankfort Street. Police detained a 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old woman, both from Rochester. Both were treated for minor injuries at the hospital, along with a person from one of the other cars.

Police say they have not yet determined if this incident is related to the string of carjacking incidents across the county.
