YMCA of Greater Rochester Closes Fitness Center at Carlson MetroCenter

The YMCA of Greater Rochester says it will no longer operate a fitness center at its Carlson MetroCenter on East Main Street.

The Carlson branch will still offer childcare and programs for young people.

The branch was struggling before the pandemic and took an even bigger financial hit in the past year.

Membership operations there were suspended in November.

The Y closed the Monroe Avenue branch last year and closed the Victor branch. Total revenue for the current year is expected to be down more than 50 percent.
