The Monroe County Board of Elections says only two candidates filed petitions by Thursday's deadline to run for mayor of Rochester.
Barring successful challenges to the petitions, incumbent Mayor Lovely Warren and City Councilman Malik Evans will face off in a Democratic Party primary June 22.
Evans also is assured of a November ballot position as the candidate of the Working Families Party.
No Republicans are running for mayor.
Meantime, 19 Democrats and three Republicans have filed petitions to run for at-large seats on the City Council.
The challengers include former judge Leticia Astacio, activist Stanley Martin, and fomer Police Accountability Board member Miquel Powell.
