City Council Scheduled to Meet for Final Vote on Police Reform Plan

The Rochester City Council is scheduled to meet this afternoon for a final vote on the city's police reform plan.

Mayor Lovely Warren wants the authority to fire police officers immediately for cause.

She also wants to reduce the number of police personnel over the next five to ten years -- and steer more money to health, youth, and conflict resolution programs.

And she wants to overhaul the police recruiting system to eliminate bias against applicants of color.

The plan must be submitted to the governor by Thursday.
