RCSD, Teacher Sued Over Alleged Sex Abuse in 1990s

The Rochester City School District says a teacher at School Without Walls has been placed on administrative leave after the district learned of a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse.

The suit against the district and teacher Walter Jahnke was brought by a then-underage student who attended School Without Walls in the 1990s.

The lawsuit claims the abuse spanned two years.

Jahnke allegedly drove the victim to parks and restaurants and gave the student gifts.

The district and the school board are also named as defendants in the lawsuit.
