The Democratic leader of the New York State Senate is calling on Governor Cuomo to resign amid the swirling sexual harassment scandal.
Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said in a statement the controversy is a distraction to the challenges facing the state.
Meanwhile, the Democratic leader of the State Assembly, Carl Heastie, issued his own statement, saying it's time for Cuomo "to seriously consider whether he can effectively meet the needs of the people of New York."
Earlier in the day, Cuomo said "there is no way" he will resign.
Two more women are alleging sexual misconduct against Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Former press aide Karen Hinton says the governor summoned her to his hotel room and embraced her twice after a work event 20 years ago.
Cuomo's director of communications vehemently denied those allegations.
A second woman, former aide Anna Liss, says Cuomo asked if she had a boyfriend and touched her lower back and kissed her hand.
Liss is currently Monroe County's planning director.
