Grand Jury Minutes in the Daniel Prude Case to be Released

A judge has granted the state attorney general's motions to release the grand jury minutes in the Daniel Prude case.

The grand jury investigation ended without an indictment of any of the officers involved in restraining Prude last March. Prude lost consciousness and died a week later.

Attorney General Letitia James says the public deserves to know what transpired during the secret grand jury proceedings. She says her office will release the minutes so the Prude family and the community won't be kept in the dark.

She says doing so is "a critical step in effecting the change that is so desperately needed.”
