GOP Lawmakers Seek to Strip Gov. Cuomo's Emergency Powers

The GOP minorities in the State Assembly and Senate are trying to take Governor Cuomo's emergency COVID-19 powers away immediately.

Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt says it should have happened long ago, as he and Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay introduced a hostile amendment that would rescind those emergency powers if approved by both houses.

The effort gained new momentum on the New York Post report alleging top Cuomo Administration officials deliberately hid the number of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes.
