Monroe County Reports 114 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths in Wayne County

The number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Monroe County is nearing 50,000 since the start of the pandemic.

The health department released the latest numbers, reporting 114 new confirmed cases and no additional deaths since the last update.

The 7-day rolling average of new cases is 162 new cases per day and the average positivity rate is now down to 2.2 percent. That’s the lowest it has been since early November.

Meanwhile, Wayne County Public Health has reported 2 more COVID-19 deaths.

That brings the death toll in the county to 40.
