The YMCA of Greater Rochester Permanently Lays Off Furloughed Employees

The YMCA of Greater Rochester has informed the state that 365 workers who were put on furlough last March have now been permanently laid off.

In a notice to the state Labor Department, the YMCA blames "unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19"

The layoffs are happening at 11 area branches. Nearly half of those cuts are coming from the Fairport and Pittsford branches.
